Sample letter text:

Dear ____________:

I join with the Rockaway Beach Branch Greenway Committee and Community Board 9 in advocating the establishment of a greenway on the long-abandoned LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch right-of-way, which runs from Rego Park to Ozone Park, in part through your District. I believe that this property, overseen by the City of New York, is at present in many places an eyesore and a hazard, serving as little more than an illegal dump for refuse. I further believe that it could be easily transformed into a beautiful linear public park that would greatly benefit the communities of central Queens for generations to come, providing recreational green-space they sorely need as well as enhanced property values and increased patronage of local businesses.

I urge you to assert your influence as a respected public official to help make this proposal a reality.

Sincerely,
[your name]

Can you help us make this picture a reality in central Queens?
